Acids exfoliate, brighten and unclog pores by dissolving the bonds that hold dead skin cells together. They range from gentle daily-use options to powerful weekly treatments. The golden rule: start slowly, one or two nights a week, and always wear SPF the morning after.
The gold standard AHA. Derived from sugar cane — small molecule that penetrates deeply to exfoliate, resurface and brighten. Proven to increase collagen production with consistent use.
Larger molecule than glycolic — gentler, more surface-level exfoliation. Hydrates as it exfoliates. Ideal introduction to acids. Works well for dry or reactive skin that can't tolerate glycolic.
Oil-soluble — the only acid that penetrates inside the pore to dissolve congestion from within. Anti-inflammatory, making it effective for active breakouts as well as prevention. The acne staple.
Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and brightening all at once. Fades post-acne marks, calms redness and reduces pigmentation without irritating sensitive skin. Safe in pregnancy. The underrated all-rounder.
Largest AHA molecule — very slow, very gentle penetration. Antibacterial properties. Ideal for first-time acid users, darker skin tones, or anyone with sensitivity to glycolic.
Not technically an exfoliating acid — blocks the signal that triggers excess melanin production. Clinically proven to fade hyperpigmentation and melasma. Safe for all skin tones and sensitive skin.
