Retinols, explained

Retinol is the most clinically proven anti-aging ingredient available without a prescription. It accelerates cell turnover, stimulates collagen production and fades hyperpigmentation. The key is starting low and going slow — retinol irritation is almost always a result of starting too strong, too soon.

Retinol 0.025–0.1%gentle

Start here — proven results, minimal irritation.

The entry-level range. Meaningful results with significantly reduced risk of irritation. Ideal for first-time retinol users, sensitive skin, or anyone who has experienced retinol burn before. Start here and build.

Retinol 0.3–0.5%active

The dermatologist sweet spot for long-term anti-aging.

The mid-range sweet spot for most people. Clinically proven collagen stimulation and cell turnover. Visibly reduces fine lines, fades dark spots and improves texture. The level most dermatologists recommend for long-term use.

Retinol 1%powerful

Maximum strength — for experienced retinol users only.

Strong-range retinol. Reserve for skin that has been using 0.3–0.5% without irritation for at least 6 months. Significant results for deep lines, acne scarring and loss of firmness.

Retinal (Retinaldehyde)powerful

11× stronger than retinol — the advanced user's upgrade.

One conversion step closer to retinoic acid than retinol — 11 times more potent than retinol, fraction of the prescription strength. Fastest-acting OTC retinoid. Becoming the gold standard for advanced users.
